Sales

Although the product is made for our laboratory customers,
it is the patient who is the ultimate customer.

  • IDS is a proven and trusted brand

Automating laboratory testing by saving labor and reducing the opportunities for errors. It has become a requirement to get the test results out quickly to doctors and patients. There is a big difference in getting a result in 2 hours versus 30 minutes. These needs are common for laboratories in hospitals of all different sizes, small and large. We have striven to provide low cost, compact systems. Historically, our systems were mainly used at University hospitals. Now we produce small scale systems that can be placed in more laboratories.

We will often meet with the leadership at hospitals to build awareness of our products. In addition to us, we will also include analyzer manufacturers, equipment dealers and even current users of IDS systems. Although we have a very large marketshare outside of Japan, we are continuously working on improving the recognition in Japan.
We are chosen based on our track record and reputation of being able to provide the type of system that customers need. Although a customer’s equipment requirements may change over time, it is our strength that we can respond to any new challenge due to our flexible systems.
Unlike other companies who are limited to directing a sample in one direction, the systems from IDS can distribute samples in either direction for more efficient processing. This flexibility increases the requirements on our parts management teams, having to manage many more parts. However, we feel that it is one of our strengths that we can deliver the system that customer’s really desire. What other companies deem impossible, IDS delivers.

  • With functionality designed for technologists,
    we improve patient care

I joined IDS with the sign of our first system. After which I transferred to the manufacturing department. Now I am in charge of the Sales department. Customer requirements have changed through time. At one time, technologists required more time to complete the aliquoting function in their labs. Now, they are able to have all that automated with our systems. Recently, we have developed a technology that allows us to detect lipemia, icterus, and hemolysis by image analysis, before it is loaded onto an analyzer. This saves unproductive instrument cycles by not attempting to analyze compromised samples. Sometimes our sales representatives receive requests and direct them to our development department. This can lead to the production of a new module.

In that respect, the IDS CLAS 8000 is product that took many of these requests, and combined them with our insights on the direction of the marketplace, to produce a one of a kind product. For example, in an attempt to further our goals of safety and efficiency, we developed a system that can aliquot from a primary tube without removing the cap. This prevents any opportunity of sample spillage. By using disposable pipette tips, any chance of carry over is eliminated. This system has been met with high acclaim by th industry. I think this is a good example of how we listened to customer needs and developed a system to address their concerns.
We are always reminding ourselves that there is a patient associated with the operations our machines perform. If a test result is incorrect, a patient may not receive the treatment they require. or visa versa. I would be very disappointed to visit a hospital and then learn that testing was not possible due to a problem with our products.
Therefore, it is crucial that our products do not break down, make errors, or keep patients waiting. I am constantly reminding our team of our ultimate customer., the Patient. All of our customers deserve quick, accurate, and reliable access to their test results. I believe that it is this attitude, combined with our reputation as a quality producer, that has led to a high level of confidence with our customers.
